So I recently just saw an episode of Tyra banks in which she was having a tribute to Black Models It was the second time I saw it and it has become one of my favorite episodes. She has some of the most famous supermodels every like Veronica Webb,Beverly Johnson some now famous and newer ones like Chanel Iman, Jessica White and Noeimie Lenoir( I really hope I spelled her name right lol) anyway I thought this episode was great because not only were all those beautiful models featured on her show she also discussed the first all Black Issue of Vogue Italy which was being sold for I believe $95.00 and it was the highest selling ever. It really sucks that you hardly every see that much diversity in Vogue America. Yes you get Brazilian models, You get Swedish, You get Australian and you get Russian of course but on a serious note you can all tell that these women have something in common they all tend to look very European yeah most of them are. I don't think it's ok at all. this world is filled with different colors of people and not only that Vogue in America pretty much always has Actresses on the cover. But that's a whole other blog back to my point. I don't understand why Vogue can't feature more models of different ethnicity's I want to see more black, More Asian, More Hispanic, More Native American and so on the cover of that magazine!!. I've heard the same old line " Black women don't buy vogue so that's why they don't really put them on the cover they market more to White people" um hello...I happen to be a Black female who loves Fashion and subscribes to vogue. Everyone in America needs to stop judging women of different't ethnicity's on the way they look stop holding them at a European standard of beauty it's so ignorant and ridiculous you can't look at an Asian woman and say she isn't beautiful because her features aren't European..That's the point she's not European and she shouldn't have to look that way so why is it that people do that? we need to change that standard and recognize all types of Beauty and all the people that disagree need to wake up and smell the coffee and get off their high horses. There are so many problems with this world today everyone is striving to be more Euro centric and youthful. I'm beginning to think that people can't accept diversity and can't accept getting older. It's pretty stupid and sadly I don't think it's changing anytime soon. Anyway I should go I must retire to bed. My last words: Let's make the world a better place accept everyone for who they are and not what they look like,Stop stereotyping, stop generalizing and stop hating In the words of Marvin Gaye " For only love can conquer hate" Listen to him.He's right.
